Congratulations on making it to the Final 2, Brendan and Lydia.

My question is not a question, but a request.

I would like each of you to write me a short story of a young cat named Soo Yi and her quest for some Dim Sum.

Soo Yi woke up one morning, and she was extremely hungry. She then saw a poster for a reality show. She would be stranded on an island with 15 other people. If she could stay on the island longer than anyone else, she would win a lifetime supply of Dim Sum.

She decided to try to apply for the show. A woman named Sara told her that she could not go on the show because it was for humans. This angered Soo Yi. So, she tried to seek revenge on the girl named Sara who told her she could not be on the show.

Soo Yi broke into Sara’s house one night for revenge. She opened up her fridge and grabbed all of the Dim Sum she could find. Soo Yi thought that then Sara would have no reward for her reality show.

The next night, Soo Yi was at home watching television and eating her Dim Sum. She then saw the premiere of Sara’s television show. She then realized Sara changed the prize from Dim Sum to a million dollars. So much for revenge.

When Soo Yi awoke, she found herself at the vet's office. She couldn't remember how she got there and immediately became frightened. Where was her family? In walked the vet to check on her and said, "I've got a surprise for you!" He then walked out the door, and Soo Yi quickly planned her escape. She saw an open window and made a run for it. As she left the office, she ran towards the road trying to figure out which way is home. She started walking down the road hoping it was the right way to go. Hours passed and Soo Yi was getting tired. How she longed for her owner. She missed them so much, but the Dim Sum breakfast she received every day was her motivation to keep going.

Poor Soo Yi was lost in the backwoods of Alabama now looking for her family. Soo Yi had been walking for so long that she just had to rest. On a nearby farm, Soo Yi heard her name being called. "SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII." She ran faster than she ever had before. The name called out again. "SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII." She ran up to the farmer while he greeted her, "howdy lil' fella." This was the person calling her name? She didn't recognize who he was at all. How did he know her name? The farmer proceeded to scratch her neck, attention she had long missed. As he scratched her, he shouted again, "SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII." Soo Yi jumped back from him. Why did he just shout her name again? She was right there. The sound of hooves approached from behind her and she saw a pig running straight for her. She hid behind the farmer, and he greeted the pig. "Suey, bout time ya got here." He then fed the pig some slop and gave her some water to drink. Soo Yi realized the farmer wasn't calling her at all, but he was calling Suey. She then decided to eat a little slop and drink the water because she was exhausted. As she ate, the farmer noticed a collar she was wearing. He then went inside his house, and Soo Yi kept eating.

The farmer started shouting from his house, "DIM SUM...." It didn't matter what else the farmer said. Soo Yi heard the words "Dim Sum." She immediately ran to the house, found an open window and climbed in. The farmer was grumbling angrily about something, but who cared about him? Dim Sum was around here. When she couldn't find any, she went to the farmer and stared at him with her beady eyes. He then started complaining again, "Dem some huge rodents! Where my shot gun?" She once again realized that she heard the wrong thing. After eating, she needed to take a nap. Seeing how tired Soo Yi was, the farmer set up little box so she could nap.

Soo Yi woke up to the sound of a doorbell. She didn't leave her bed but just rolled over until she heard a familiar voice. Who was he? She got up, and it was her owner! She leaped up into his arms so happy to be reunited. The owner thanked the farmer, and Soo Yi knew she was on her way home.

However, something was not right. It's taking too long to get home. Soo Yi then realized her owner brought her back to the vet's office. He left Soo Yi in the car while he went inside. Soo Yi was frightened. The nightmare was starting again. After five minutes, her owner came back out. He said to her, "You don't like surprises, Soo Yi? Here is what the doctor was about to give you. It was something I knew would make you think of home." He then handed her a bowl full of Dim Sum. If only she wouldn't have left the vet's office in the first place, she could have had it all along.
